ReNewell, Inc. Fine Art Conservation ReNewell, Inc. Fine Art Conservation
ReNewell, Inc. Fine Art Conservation specializes in works of art on paper and 18th and 19th century oil paintings. Ginny Newell established ReNewell, Inc. in 1983 after graduating from Davidson College with a BA in Art History and being bench-trained in art conservation in both the United States and Europe. The lab does work for private collectors and museums along the East Coast and, most recently, was hired by the Florence Museum of Art (SC) to conserve their two-dimensional art prior to their move to a new facility. As a member of CIPP (Conservators in Private Practice) she follows the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice of our parent institution, the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) in Washington, DC. She is also an active participant in SERCA (Southeastern Regional Conservation Association), as well as many civic and social organizations in North and South Carolina. Ginny and staff continually take conservation refresher courses to stay abreast of new approaches and technologies in the field of art conservation.

As a way of relaxing and continuing her pursuit of cultural artifacts, Ginny enjoys being challeneged by the natural world. She has hiked the Grand Canyon, rafted the Zambezi River, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, safaried the Serengeti, and hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. She is also a certified SCUBA diver.
